We Held Inspiring IBM Women Networking Event in Stockholm
Event • Nyheter
On December 11, IBM’s office in Kista became a hub of inspiration and connection as we hosted IBM Women Networking Event. This special gathering brought together women with technical backgrounds to network, learn, and share experiences about building a career in technology.
The event was particularly meaningful as 20 talented female IT professionals from Ukraine, who came to Sweden due to the war, joined the event. These remarkable women, alongside 10 experienced IBM mentors, participated in engaging discussions and hands-on coaching sessions. The event was co-hosted by IBM and the Ukrainian Professional Support Center, further underscoring the importance of fostering community and support during challenging times.
A highlight of the event was a powerful and moving speech by Yohaniz Basir – IT Specialist IBM Client Innovation Center Sweden, one of IBM’s distinguished speakers, who shared invaluable insights about resilience, growth, and navigating the challenges of the tech industry.
We came together to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and build real connections. In just a few hours, we created a space of mutual support, understanding, and empowerment.
I was deeply moved by the strength and resilience shown by this inspiring group and felt privileged to stand alongside them. To my Ukrainian sisters—you are seen, heard, and never alone. – Yohaniz Basir
Here’s what one Ukrainian participant Khrystina shared:
It is perfect to be a woman in tech in IBM.
We’re proud to have hosted such a diverse and meaningful event that empowered women in technology, offered mentorship, and created connections across borders and experiences.
Thank you to all who joined us, and especially to our mentors and IBM for making this event so impactful.
